Terms of Use

General

  1. All new website projects are payable by the Payment Schedule. Work will not continue until payment has been made before each stage, and the website will not be launched on the internet until the final payment has been received.
  2. All charges set out in any proposal or quotation are provided only as an estimate based on the information available as at the date of issue of proposal or quotation. The final amounts payable will be based on actual time, charges and costs incurred. Often 2 or 3 proposals will be created before commencement of the project.
  3. All dates set out in any proposal or quotation are provided as a best estimate of the amount of time the work will take and neither party shall suffer any penalty, cost or other liability to the other party for failure to meet any such dates.

Domain Names, Website & Email Hosting

  1. Direct Debit or Standing Orders on annual renewals may be requested at any time.
  2. Paid domain names are the property of the registrant; unpaid domain names are the property of Connex Hosting Limited.
  3. Connex Hosting Limited endeavor to provide 99.9% uptime on all services; however we cannot accept commercial responsibility for any downtime in service or lost emails.
  4. Domain name, website and email hosting charges are due annually in advance, there are no terms available on these services, as these services carry upfront costs. Annual renewals will be invoiced up to 90 days in advance of renewal date to ensure customers have enough time to make payment before expiry of services. Connex Hosting Limited will not accept any responsibility for any lost of service due to late payment.
  5. Domain names can be transferred away from Connex Hosting Limited for a small administration charge of £25.

Graphic Design and New Media

  1. Design and artwork projects are subject to approved payment terms.
  2. Additional work above and beyond that quoted overleaf will be charged at the relevant hourly rate.
  3. All amendments to completed projects must be brought to the attention of 1Line Design Limited within 10 working days or rate card charges will apply.
  4. Copyright remains the property of 1Line Design Limited  until full and final payment has been received.

Search engine consultancy

  1. Search engine consultancy and related work are always paid in full in advance of commencement of the work.

Support and Maintenance Services

  1. All support times are Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5.30pm.
  2. Any hardware deemed to be faulty will be replaced at quoted price until/if recovered from manufacturer warranty.
  3. All licensing for software will be the sole responsibility of the Customer.
  4. All hardware and software payments are payable up front in advance.
  5. Services will be billed on monthly maintenance contracts or 14 days terms.

Error Checking

  1. 1Line Design operates a three strike rule in relation to the investigation of errors. If errors are found to be caused by either the customer or a third party on three separate occasions 1Line Design then reserve the right to charge a support fee of £55 per hour for any future investigations.

Overdue payments

  1. Late Payment of an account will lead to the following action being taken:
  2. Suspension of services (related or not).
  3. Late Payment Fine of £10 per overdue day.
  4. Interest will be charged at 8% per day above the Bank of England Base Rate in line with The Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
  5. Charges occur if payment is not received within 14 days of the generated invoice.
  6. Unpaid accounts will lead to County Court Proceedings being issued.
